Summer plans

Every Tuesday I head to the nearest town to stock on food, as a local farmer sells his fresh produce in the Piazza. I formed a friendship with him and the day before I text him the things I need: 1K beans, etc. He doesnt use pesticides or any chemicals and I usually give him some new seeds to plant. Then I would buy my cheese and eggs from another local farmer who makes the best Pecorino cheese; he also brings me eggs from his hens, hehe. In this little town there are about 7 organic shops! It is just a paradise form someone like me, especially to be able to find fair trade and organic banana. Of course I will never buy something that is organic but flown from Mexico or Spain, never. I believe in eating local, seasonal and as organic as possible. So all  my fruits and veggies and meats have to be LOCAL and SEASONAL.  The picture above was taken in winter during the cauliflower season :)
Who is that? Hehe. This is Luna's favourite hiding place, above the hutch in the kitchen/sitting/dinning room.
The weather is great, at least to me; it has been hot, hot, hot and I'm loving it. I have so many plans for this summer: making so many different jams and chutneys and pickles; one-day trips to the sea, taking my trusty bike Farara with me ( I just need to take the bus and 40 minutes later I'm at the seaside; eating tons of amazing Italian ice creams; wearing summer dresses every day and never jeans or a trousers through out the summer; getting dressed up a bit and use all those gorgeous brooches, corsages and pins I have; dying my hair more often, to cover up grey hair :) ; eating outside, as I live in the countryside, all I need to get is something for the mosquitos and maybe set up a hammock, if I can afford it and find someone to take me to IKEA :)

What are your plans for summer?

As I said in my new post, I do not have internet at home, though the problem will be solved in few days/weeks. fingers crossed and thank you again for passing by.

    2. And I hope your next trip to Bella Italia would be more interesting and see more of this beautiful country. As for the cats, well, well, currently I'm looking after 15 cats plus my two little ones. I will blog about this interesting path I'm going through these days. It is just like a movie but so true :) stay tuned.

About Me

My photo
I left my well paid job to pursue a life as an off grider, living off the land, eating only seasonal and local food; growing my own food, raising checkins for eggs. I live on a very little money but I'm happy and content. Never been this happy before. Welcome to my world.
