Yesterday my friend Stella gave me a basket of fresh cherries from her garden.
Last night the wind howled and rattled the house, like a trapped monster. It deprived me from the sweet sleep. So, I decided to start Monday/the week with something sweet. (see below)
Well, I have been quiet for a while because I went to London, UK, for a week and when I came back there was so much to do around the veggie plot and in the house, plus I was feeling so tired and sleeping a lot! So here are my news in brief:
- The tiny nasty slugs are still terrorizing my veggies and I just go twice a day to pick them after setting traps of fresh empty shells of fava beans!
-The weather has been crazy, very cold and wet and I'm still using the wood-burning stove for heating and I'm so tired and fed up :(
-My zucchinis are doing great and I will be feasting on some in few days, if the sun comes out a bit!
-I ate 2 heads of salads, I grew and still have 9 to devour. I'm going to get more to plant.
-I've been eating a lot of chard and spinach from my vegetable plot and I noticed a great improvement in my eye sight! It is amazing but I used to have a very dry eyes that make it very hard to read or use internet for more than an hour but now, all gone! I'm so happy and will carry on eating the greens plus the edible weeds I collect with my friend Ina (she is 90 years old and looks amazing)

Hey Cyrene..I have worked with some two legged slugs but not the type you are dealing with...lets hear more about your trip to London...have you got any chickens yet..my Grandmother used to go to the chicken pen every Sunday after church and grab a hen then snap its neck pluck it an whala...a fried chicken Sunday dinner. Me..I am too much of an animal lover for that sort of thing..so its off to Colonel Sanders...Was reading about a lady that funded a organic farm in Canada using what is called "crowd funding". Take card, David
ReplyDeleteHey David, sorry for the late reply, I've been sick for some days :(
DeleteWell, my visit to London was ok but very tiring. I was very disappointed too because no one seems to be recycling! It was terrible and very upsetting to me. London will be buried in rubbish in few years.
No checkins so far because the landlady is not looking good, I mean she looks very angry these days and I do not know why, so I decided not to talk to her. Plus, I've been thinking if it is a wise idea to have chickens when I do not know where I will end up! It scares me sometimes but now I'm more relaxed, what happens will will happen and when the time for me to move out comes, there will be a way for me to find another much better place. I believe things happen for a reason and I just need to go with the flow. We shall see.
Thank you so much for your comment and kind words, I look forward to reading your comments, always. :)
