Lavender Story

Jams and Chutney I made this summer

The weather is getting hotter these days and I’m fasting, so double hard. My neighbour gave me lots of tomatoes and cucumbers from their farm, so I’m going to make tomato sauce tomorrow and can it and the next day pickle some cucumbers. I need to raid the recycling point for some vases :D

Lavender at my friend's farm

Last week was my neighbour Giovanni birthday; I made him a chocolate cake with chocolate filling and lemon cheese frosting. I made him a card too and gifted him a nice mug for his evening café latte. He turned 80 but doesn’t look it at all.

A friend of mine told me about a translation job; translating a novel into English; they do not pay much, actually very little but it is better than nothing and what I get will help pay the rent for a while.

Lavender bags I made, my own design

In June I went with a friend who has a lavender farm to sell the lavender in a market over four days. We made bouquets of the lavender and added wheat and even garlic; it was the tradition. Anyway, I returned home with a bagful of dried lavender leftover and decided to make lavender bags. They came out lovely, see photo. I gifted some to my friends. They think I should sell them and I might do so in the local market to generate a bit of money.

About Me

My photo
I left my well paid job to pursue a life as an off grider, living off the land, eating only seasonal and local food; growing my own food, raising checkins for eggs. I live on a very little money but I'm happy and content. Never been this happy before. Welcome to my world.
