Frogs and Festivals!

This photo is from a previous festival in another town. Miniature bags and shoes!

In Italy there are festivals for everything, even frogs! In a nearby village they hold a yearly festival for frogs. There are frogs' races (frogs on wheelbarrows and people racing and the frog that says the longest time on the wheelbarrow becomes the winner!), and other types of racing and jumping, etc. Then they eat the frogs, haha. There are tons of stalls that sell fried frogs, roasted frogs, frogs cooked in sauces, etc. Yesterday I spent a whole afternoon there but didn't eat frogs this time. Last year, before I became a vegetable, I ate a fried frog and it tasted like fish!.

The festival is held for 3 days and people come from every where. Kids love it. But honestly I felt so sorry for the frogs :( Ididn't take pictures of the frogs but some of the stalls, mainly food. Then the battery of my camera died!

Bread handmade and cooked in an earthen/brick oven.

Preserves on sale! It seems they are going through financial difficulties, as it is rare to see stuff for sale in stalls!

About Me

My photo
I left my well paid job to pursue a life as an off grider, living off the land, eating only seasonal and local food; growing my own food, raising checkins for eggs. I live on a very little money but I'm happy and content. Never been this happy before. Welcome to my world.
